The Chinese millitrary is coming out with the brand new Xain h8 stealth bomber. Little is known about this stealth bomber because it is “top secret.” This stealth bomber is going to be very high tech. Some say it will be even more high tech than the b2a which is the American stealth bomber. The h8 stealth bomber will include some very high tech things like: high-tech blended wing-body design-fly-by-wire controls, angled fuselage, internal fuel tanks, carbon fiber and composite materials-rotating weapons profile bay, mapping radar, satellite data links and advanced digital mapping systems-nanometer coating, 4 turbo-fan engines. Now no one knows for sure if these technical specifications are true. It is reportedly bigger that the h6 which is another Chinese stealth bomber. The h8 bomber can travel 11,000 kilometers which is around 6500 miles before having to re-fuel. It can travel as fast as mach 1.2 which is around 850 MPH and can hold two people. It can also carry 12 cruise missiles on each of the weapons bay, also 3 nuclear missiles (350 kiloton). It is said it this bomber is in mass production already but no one knows for sure.
Another Chinese stealth fighter development is the J-20. This is a new high tech 4th generation stealth aircraft only 1 generation behind the 5th generation American B-2a. also, defence secretary Robert Gates says that even by the year 2015, China will have not caught up with U.S. technology. The only issue with compare the B-2a to the J-20 is that they are in completely different categories. While the B-2 sereis is in the heavy bomber category meaning that it has extensive payload and bombing capabilities, the J-20 is in the fighter class constructed for much efficiency in air to air combat. The J-20 is said to match the fighting abilities of the F-22, one of the most powerful U.S. fighters, and have a greater engine power. Although the U.S. sees this new plane as a threat, the Chinese government says that it is for defense use only. By definition, though, defense can mean deterring Taiwan , a Chinese territory, from declaring formal independence. Also, although it may not be directly stated, this plane could pose as a direct threat to Japan .
For obvious reasons, this is a very politically important story. First of all, these new Chinese weapons with nuclear capabilities could pose as a severe threat to the U.S. and others. This also could influence a weapons treaty of some sort compromised between China and the U.S. in both countries national security interests deterring part of the theoretical nuclear barrier that’s stands in the way of further advancement of our civilization.
In conclusion, the powerful new advancements in fighting technology for china can prove to be either a threat to much of the world or a chance for treaties of all sorts. If the weapons prove to be affective, they will most likely go into mass production, but if they prove to be duds, all anyone will be able to say is “made in China ”.
