Leaders of the 28 member nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) — much of Europe , plus the United States and Canada — are gathering in Lisbon to discus policy on the war on terror in Afghanistan . The U.S. would like to keep combat forces in until 2014. If this date is set, the Afghanistany security forces will not only be battling terrorism, but time. Canada has made a big move agreeing to send 950 trainers as well as keeping combat forces a while longer. The general feeling in NATO is we need to know when America is leaving so we can go sixth months before they do.
